Elsie Jean Lytle, 92 of Coldwater passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.
In following her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services are planned. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Elsie was born January 28, 1928 to Fred and Muriel (Quimby) Sellers in Michigan Center. She worked with her husband at W.E. Lytle & Sons, but mainly was a homemaker raising her family. Elsie at one time belonged to the Masonic Temple. She married James Lytle on February 12, 1965. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1981.
Elsie was well known for her quilting skills and also taught lessons in quilting while at Maple Lawn. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially going boating and fishing. Elsie was a good cook and liked preparing meals for her family. She was an avid card and euchre player who wanted to win at all costs, including cheating if necessary. She will be remembered for her outgoing and funny personality. Elsie always put the needs of her family first, being very loyal to her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Lytle is survived by her children Linda (Stewart) Caldwell of Wolcotville, IN, Melody (Demetrio) Cara of Brandon, FL, Randy (Mary) Vreeland of Ossian, IN, and Gaye Lindsay of Coldwater; her siblings Evelyn (Calvin) Walling of Coldwater, Ann Winger of Coldwater, and Chris (Gloria) Sellers of Naples, FL; her grandchildren Nicholas Winger, Orazio (Deanna) Cara, Jami (Marlin) Miller, and Mark (Diana) Thompson; 6 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James Lytle, and her brother Oran Sellers.
