Obituary for Elsa A. Knapp
Elsa A. Knapp, 101, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Coldwater, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023 in Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Elsa was born December 2, 1921 in Pisa, Italy to Paris & Alberta (Pogganti) Bendinelli. She married Alva D. Knapp, Sr. on May 21, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1984.
Mrs. Knapp sold and demonstrated Artex Paint and worked for the Community Health Center of Branch County in Central Supply for many years. She was also a skilled seamstress, operating her own alteration business. Elsa enjoyed crocheting, knitting and making quilts. She was a member of Good Sam’s and enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV, spending many winter months in Florida.
Elsa is survived by her children Anna Marie (James) Galatro of Homosassa, FL, Rose Ann (Dana) Miller of Ocala, FL, Mary Lou Brodock of Homer, Alva (Chris) Knapp, Jr. of Sturgis; half-sister Anna Maria Braconi of Pisa, Italy; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the US and Italy. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Robert Brodock, her uncle Alfio Pogganti and her aunt Corrindia Pogganti.
