Obituary for Douglas L. Collyer

Douglas LaVere Collyer, 62 of Bronson passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at his home in Bronson.

A graveside memorial service will take place at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 25, 2019 with Evangelist Mike Roberts officiating of Bronson Church of Christ officiating. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Douglas was born December 26, 1956 to Charles and Deloris (Teachout) Collyer in Coldwater. He graduated from Bronson High School and then began a 15 year career with United Technologies. After they closed their operation, he began his own scrap business in Bronson. In his younger years, he also did farm work.

Douglas was an avid outdoorsman enjoying spending time hunting and fishing. He also liked working on cars and playing cards. As he got older, he wanted to spend more time around his home living a simple life. Douglas will be remembered as being an easy spirit and always wanting to help others.

Douglas is survived by his children Donisha (Kenneth) Leonard of Coldwater, Misty (Sam) Collyer, Amber Collyer, and Eric Collyer all of Louisville, KY; his sister Linda Collyer of Bronson; his grandchildren David Otis, Jr., Michelle Otis, Chase Harden, twins Cage & Michael Harden, Shivani and Eian Sam; his ex-wives Glenda Williams and Nancy Davis; and his good friend Richard (Lindsey) Vosburgh. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Donna Collyer.
