Obituary for Dorothy M. Donay
Dorothy M. Donay, 82, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 11:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Robert Creagan officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, from 9-11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Dorothy was born July 24, 1938 in Cleveland, OH to George A. & Frances (Kujaski) Stapin. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and had worked at many local retail establishments, including Reyburn’s Menswear.
Dorothy was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Church. She was very active with the Council of Catholic Women and former president of the Ave Maria Guild. Dorothy served as Eucharistic Minister and was very involved in many of the church activities. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi and enjoyed sewing, gardening and a variety of crafts.
Dorothy is survived by her children Paul Donay of Battle Creek, Jeffrey (Teresa) Donay of Urbana, OH, Greg Donay of Coldwater, David (JoEllen) Donay of Coldwater, daughter-in-law Tracy Donay of Cleveland, OH, her brother and sisters Richard (Pat) Stapin of Ft. Myers, FL, Virginia (Eugene) Pawlowski of Chagrin Falls, OH, Joy (Dick) Cassidy of Munroe Falls, OH, her grandchildren Justin, Brock, Joseph, Luke, Kaia, Grace and Gabe Donay and her great grandchildren Kohen and Kali Donay. She was preceded in death by her former husband Larry Donay, her son Robert Donay and her granddaughters Macy and Sydney Donay.
