Obituary for Donna C. Smith
Donna Carol Smith, 88 of Reading passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Maple Lawn.
In following her wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will have a celebration of life at a later date. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Donna was born April 19, 1932 to Leon and Nora (Todd) Anthony in Albion, MI. She graduated from Albion High School. On May 27, 1967 she married the love of her life Max Smith in Albion at the Baptist Church where she attended in her younger years.
Donna really enjoyed all aspects of lake living. She liked spending time going on walks, baking for holidays, special family events, and having coffee with friends. Her true joy in life was being around her family, especially when the grandchildren arrived. Donna will be remembered for her smile as well as her caring and thoughtful personality. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew her.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 53 years, Max Smith of Reading; her children David (Jill) Smith of Middleville, MI and Julie (Greg) Santure of Tekonsha; her sister Marilyn Cornell of Albion; her grandchildren Rachel Smith, Kyle Smith, Lucas Santure, and Austin Santure; and her buddy “Seger” the dog. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Thelma (Gerald) Oatmen; and her brother Harold (Beatrice) Anthony.
