Obituary

Diane Sue Wortz, 71, of Coldwater, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at Bronson of Battle Creek Hospital. She was born May 18, 1948 in Detroit to Mary Lera Moore and was raised by Maurice and Donna (Coman) Reighter. On May 15, 1971 Diane married Jerry Wortz and he still survives.

Her passion and joy was her family whom she loved dearly. At an early age Diane had accepted Jesus as her lord and savior, devoting her life to his faithful service. She had also proudly homeschooled both of her own children as well as three of her grandchildren. She was a fun loving, family oriented, and kind hearted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and much more to many.
In addition to her husband Jerry, Diane is survived by her children Jeremy (Laura) Wortz of Cedar Springs, MI; Candice Campbell of Coldwater; nine grandchildren, Laura, Jeremiah, Olivia, Charles, John, Molly, Madelyn, Joseph, Ethan. She is also survived by her sister Gail Lemon and her cousin Mary Smith which both she shared a special relationship with.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Jerry: We first met you at the Youth Group meeting at Ganson Street Baptist in Jackson Michigan around 1970. We were so sad to hear of Diane’s passing but know she is now with her Savior and Lord in heaven. Please contact us.

I will always have wonderful memories of my "sister" who I grew up with. We had so many good days and fun, going to the farm and getting eggs, to walking to Walt's store a few blocks away. Many great memories at both houses, I will never forget. I am so blessed that you found me just a few years ago on Facebook. I will miss Diane so very much, but I am so thankful that I have such great memories of our life together. Sending prayers to the family, I understand how terribly hard this is.

I "met" Miss Diane as we called her , on a homeschooling yahoo list. We wrote many times back and forth about the challenges and joys of homeschooling. Miss Diane was an inspiration to many of us. Once Facebook started, we all joined together on Facebook and were then able to share pictures and more personal messages. I enjoyed all of her pictures and posts; she was an encourager and had such a sweet spirit and warm smile. She always spoke of her family with such love and pride! I will miss her so very much. Rest in peace, Dear Miss Diane. And May the Lord bring comfort and strength to the wonderful Reighter Wortz family.❤️
