David Bruce Watson, 83 of Coldwater passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Masonville Place while under hospice care.

A memorial service will take place at 4:00 pm on Monday September 30, 2019 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with his friend Dr. James Troust officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 2:00 pm. A private burial will take place at a later date.

David was born April 30, 1936 to Park and Katherine (Becher) Watson in St. Johns. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Agricultural Studies. David was the Director of Facilities Operations at the Community Health Center for 28 years. After leaving the hospital, he started a 19 year real estate career. On July 22, 1982 he married Pat Jones in Coldwater.

Dave was very involved in the Coldwater community. He was on the CBPU Board of Directors for 24 years and also the Kimball Camp board, and a founding member of the American Society of Hospital Engineers. He was a long-time member of the Coldwater Noon Exchange Club. He had many interests including going walking, hunting, and fishing. Dave was an avid bowler, being the Co-Captain of the Exchange Club team for many years. Dave’s true joy in life was spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by many.

David is survived by his wife of 37 years, Pat Watson of Coldwater; his sons Scott (Sam) Watson of Oak Grove, MO and Chris (Darla) Watson of Zeeland; Pat’s daughters Kay (Arland) Weisberg of West Bloomfield, Julie (Glenn) Heise of Grand Haven, and Connie Knecht of Exeter, NH; his grandchildren Rochelle Watson, Stephanie (Anthony) Langley, Conner (Autumn) Watson, Emily Watson, Ryan and Aaron Heise, Chloe, Max, and Carmen Knecht; his great grandchildren Kade, Clay, and Emma Langley. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Nickolas Watson.
