David Clarence “Dave” Batterson, 81, of Coldwater passed away Saturday July 16, 2022 at his home in Coldwater. In accordance to his wishes cremation has taken place with no formal services to be held at this time. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
He was born December 31, 1940 to Clarence and Evelyn (Kesson) Batterson in Coldwater, MI. Dave married Judy Wilcox in February of 1960 in Coldwater and she preceded him in death on November 23, 2021. Truly building his life and family in Coldwater David led a lifelong career in excavating; the outdoors was his element where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the cabin that he built in the Upper Peninsula. Dave was a life member of NRA and had a passion for archery, from the sport itself all the way to collecting arrowheads. He was father, grandfather, uncle and friend that will be dearly missed.
Surviving Dave is his son Jesse (Mary) Batterson of Bronson, his grandchildren Erik and Kirby Batterson, and his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Judy, Dave was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Donna and Virginia.
