Obituary for Darlene K. Hagel
Darlene K. Hagel, 64, of Bronson, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Terry Siler officiating. Interment will follow at Matteson Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 from 3-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Darlene was born June 5, 1958 in Detroit, MI to William & Garnett (Bias) Vires II. She married David F. Hagel on December 10, 1983 in Warren, MI.
Darlene was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She taught fitness and ballroom dancing for many years. For the past 2 years she has worked for the Coldwater Community Schools at Max Larsen in the school library.
Darlene enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, needlepoint and quilting. She liked to spend time researching genealogy and enjoyed the outdoors while gardening. Darlene loved children. She was a mom to many, but her greatest joy came from her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Darlene is survived by her husband David; her children Christina (Matthew) Erath of Coldwater, Justin Hagel of Bronson, Ryan (Abby) Hagel of Battle Creek, Danielle (Spencer) Verhelle of Bronson; her siblings Larry (Nora) Vires of Clinton Twp., Rob (Brenda) Vires of Phoenix, AZ, Spike (Maryann) Vires of Imlay City, Phillip (Kathy) Vires of Warren; her grandchildren Grace and Adalynn and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother William Vires, III.
