Obituary for Dale A. Johnson Sr.

Dale Alexander Johnson Sr., 86, of Coldwater, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Drew’s Place of Coldwater II.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Terry Siler officiating. Interment will follow at Bronson Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Thursday at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson prior to the funeral service.
Dale was born June 16, 1931 to Melvin Johnson and Lola (Teachout) Gillman in Coldwater. He married Elizabeth “Rosemary” Young on September 25, 1950 in Angola, Indiana and she preceded him in death on April 2, 1997. Dale was a United States Air Force veteran during the Korean Conflict.
He was a construction worker and painter for many years in the Coldwater and Bronson areas. Dale enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, golfing, mushroom hunting, reading and crossword puzzles.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Brenda G. (Larry) Faust of Coldwater; his sister-in-law, Goldie Kline of Kalamazoo; his brother-in-law, Joe (Pat) Young of Kimball; his cousins, Rosalyn Monhey of Kalamazoo, Bill (Dorothy) McCoy of California and Brian (Carol) McCoy of Sturgis. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Elizabeth “Rosemary”; and his son Dale A. Johnson Jr.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
