Obituary for Corey J. Hall

Corey Joseph Hall, 18 of Litchfield passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Don Gillett officiating. Interment will follow at Batavia Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.

Corey was born December 2, 2000 in Coldwater to Heather Hurley and Corey Olds. Corey was adopted on February 23, 2016 and he took on the Hall name of his parents Chris and Heather. He attended Coldwater schools and graduated from Litchfield High School on May 26, 2019. Corey was a member of the football, basketball, and track teams while in high school, as well as being an Honor Roll Student his senior year. He enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program while attending Litchfield. Corey was planning to enlist in the US Army in November. Soon after graduation he began working at Clemens Group in the packaging department.

Corey greatly enjoyed playing sports, especially football. He was very proud to have been crowned Homecoming King in 2019. Corey was an avid outdoorsman. In his spare time he liked playing video games, spending time with friends and rooting for the Seattle Seahawks (Sea Chickens). Corey will be remembered as a smart, funny, loving, sensitive, and determined young man. He was an amazingly loyal friend.

He was preceded in death by his (Papa) Thomas Jennings, and Grandma Jara Waldrop (Chris’s mother).

Corey is survived by his parents Chris (Heather) Hall of Coldwater and Corey (Audrey) Olds of Iowa; his brother Joshua Hall and his sister Kylee Hall of Coldwater; his half-brothers Rowdy and Rally Olds of Iowa; his maternal grandmother Debra Jennings of Quincy; his paternal grandparents Max (Deena) Olds and Karen (Tom) Clark all of Coldwater; his aunts Kara (Zeke) Nestell, and Sheena Jennings of Quincy; his uncles Heath (Shondell) Hamlin of Reading, Kevin (Amber) Hall, Sr. of Coldwater; and his cousins Maci & Morghan Lorenz, Seth, Maddie, Sophia, & Charlotte Hamlin, Sabrina Grindle, Audrey & Kevin, Jr. Hall.
