Obituary for Connie L. Zimmerman
Connie L. Zimmerman, 67 of Coldwater passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Connie was born June 22, 1955 in Ft. Wayne, IN to James L. and Mary (Jett) Zimmerman.
Connie lived in Fort Wayne until she moved to Coldwater Lake in 1990, where she fell in love with lake life. She worked for over 20 years as an Industrial Sewer at Sew Tech in Coldwater, retiring in 2021.
Connie enjoyed boating, hanging at the sandbar, and floating on a raft in a cove – just as long as she didn’t get her hair wet. She looked forward to “date night Thursdays” which were often spent grilling on the water. Connie was always up for a fun, yet competitive game of darts, bowling, Euchre – you name it – and she was usually on the winning team. She especially loved to laugh and spend time with her neighborhood friends. For many years it was just Connie and Angie. Six years ago she met the love of her life, Bill, who cared for her deeply and spoiled her through her last day of life.
Connie is survived by her children Brad (Laurie) Geisleman of Ft. Wayne, IN, Angie Johnson of Coldwater; her siblings Kay (Steve) Saunders of Phoenix, AZ, Kenneth Zimmerman of Phoenix, AZ, Dennis (Diana) Zimmerman of Ft. Wayne, IN, Carolyn (Doug) McKinney of Ft. Wayne, IN, Phillip Zimmerman of Ft. Wayne, IN; her grandchildren, Seth Geisleman, Rayce Johnson, Annika Johnson; Her longtime companion Bill Ogg of Coldwater. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Steven Zimmerman.
