Clarence “Butch” David Rule, 76, of Coldwater passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Burial with honors will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. He was born May 30, 1944 to Roy and Louise (Lyman) Rule in Highland Park, MI. Butch had proudly served his country in both the United States Army and Navy. After finishing his honorable service, Clarence had been employed as a truck driver and computer-networking technician for the remainder of his working career. On October 12, 1985 Butch married Lore Ross and she survives. He was member of the Northview Christian Church in Coldwater. He had served as past president of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 730 in Branch County and was a life member. He was also a life member of the Disabled Veterans of America, and was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Butch was collector of sports memorabilia and loved the vegetable gardens that he and Lore would plant every year together. In addition to his wife Lore, he is survived by his children Chad Rule of Proctorville, OH, Tommy (Jecca) Rule of Coldwater, Steven Rule of Sneads Ferry, NC; his brothers Roger Rule of Corbin, KY, John (Nadene) McCaw of Texas; five grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Crook, and his brothers Thomas and Roy Rule and Bill McCaw.
