Obituary for Clara Rickey
Clara Rickey, 92, of Coldwater, formerly of Warren, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 4-7:00 PM, with the rosary to begin at 6:00 PM, at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Clara was born January 30, 1930 in Detroit, MI to Michael and Stella (Wnuk) Leszczynski . She married Mitchell Rickey on October 6, 1950. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2000.
Mrs. Rickey was a bookkeeper at Commonwealth Bank for many years, until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Warren where she helped with their annual Polish Festival. Clara was a dedicated mother and very involved in her children’s activities and events. She enjoyed reading, baking, gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting.
Clara is survived by her siblings Dolores Leszczynski of Coldwater, Stephen (Susan) Adamczyk of Imlay City, MI; her daughters-in-law Wendy Nirganakis of St. Clair Shores, Tracy Rickey of South Carolina; her loving nieces and nephews and her very good friends Jeff and Judy Badgley. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her three sons Sidney Rickey, David Rickey, and Paul Rickey and her dear friend Frances Hamlin.
