Obituary for Christopher L. Woodhull

Christopher L. Woodhull
March 3, 1977 – April 9, 2020

On Thursday April 9, 2020, Chris Woodhull passed away at the age of 43. Chris was a good man! He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, nephew, uncle, brother in law, cousin, godfather and friend. He was really great at being all of these things, but being a truly amazing father was his greatest life's work!

Chris Woodhull was born in Batesville, AR on March 3, 1977 to Lee and Janet Woodhull. He grew up in Littleton, Colorado and graduated from Columbine High School in 1995. He attended Arapahoe Community College for two years while also mentoring the youth group at Columbine United Church. He graduated from Colorado State University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, where he was also a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity.

After college he worked as a youth counselor and case manager at Turning Point Residential, then as a probation officer in Arapahoe County. Later he returned to Ft. Collins where he was employed as a bond commissioner for Larimer County. Chris enjoyed helping youth and adults alike and was a compassionate listener and advisor. He was always well liked by his co-workers who often became close friends. Most recently employed at Pines Behavioral Health in Coldwater, MI.

Chris married Kelly Elizabeth Vogler on Oct. 25, 2013. Their two angel babies are William Finn and Elizabeth Hope. Magdeline Grace (Maggie) and Maxwell Langston (Max) were both born in Fort Collins, CO. The family moved to Coldwater, MI in August 2017.

Chris had a passion for the outdoors and loved snowboarding, camping and all sports. He was a loyal fan of the NY Yankees, Detroit Lions and the Detroit Red Wings. He also loved music and had a knack for winning concert tickets on the radio. If you ever heard him imitate the internal dialogue of the dog... you know how funny he was as well! He loved deeply and was so loved by so many. We hope he knew how much we loved him. He suffered more than we all knew and we are heartbroken by his pain and devastated by this loss.

Preceded in death by his father, Lee Woodhull, as well as William and Elizabeth. Survived by his wife Kelly Vogler Woodhull, two adorable kids Magdeline (5) and Maxwell (3), his mother Janet Woodhull, sister Heather Barbieri and husband Chad and niece Riley and nephew Marco.

Chris was a much loved member of Kelly’s extended family; father Charles Vogler, brothers Steve Goebel (Peter Navarro), Chris (Nicole) and William (Ashli) Vogler, and sister Kori Goebel, and their children Samuel, Sophie, James, Madilynn, Elizabeth, Betsy, and Jeanette as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Due to the current Shelter In Place situation we are in a holding pattern on a Celebration of Life. Details will follow.

May your pain be gone and your soul be at peace!
