Obituary for Charles A. Fowler

Charles “Arden” Fowler, 83, of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, February 09, 2021 at Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital after a short illness.

In following his wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside burial will take place at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Snow Prairie Cemetery. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Charles was born November 18, 1937 to Charles C. and Helen (Rose) Fowler in Fawn River Township. He was a 1956 Bronson High School graduate. Arden was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era, but did not serve overseas. Upon leaving the service he began a long working career. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with both county and state road commissions. Arden also spent time farming. On September 12, 1959 he married Phyllis Jean Loe. He was very proud of being a lifelong resident of Branch County.

Arden was a man of many interests. He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed restoring antique furniture. Arden liked to spend time outdoors going hunting, gardening, and doing yardwork. Taking walks in the woods and going mushroom hunting were high on his list of enjoyable things to do.Arden will be remembered as being hardworking, loving, and gentle man who always put his family first.

Mr. Fowler is survived by his children Richard (Lisa Browning) Fowler of Franklin, TN, Shawn Fowler of Springfield, MO, and Ellisha Greenfield of Bronson; his sisters Gloria Martin of Oscoda and Sally (Dale) Davis of Bronson; his grandchildren Angelina (Jerrod Manning) Fowler, Benjamin (Kate) Fowler, Tyler Fowler, Caleb Fowler, and Travis Fowler; his great grandchildren Gunner and Bodhi Fowler; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Bill Martin.
