Obituary for Charlene M. Thomas

Charlene M. Thomas, 69, of Coldwater, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at Battle Creek Select Specialty Hospital.
The funeral service will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Pierce from the First Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, Prior to the service, beginning at 12 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services.
Charlene was born June 17, 1948 in Kalamazoo, MI to Richard & Mary (Watson) Kurtz. She had worked for Englewood Electric, Voltek and waitressed at various restaurants. For the past several years, Char had worked at the Citgo Station in Quincy.
Charlene enjoyed reading and listening to music. She also liked to play board games, especially “Aggravation”. Char greatest passion was her family. She was very devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Char is survived by her children Laura Fillmore of Coldwater, Robert (Sherri) Thomas, Jr. of Flint, her brothers and sister Richard (Sandy) Kurtz of Richland, John (Rosalee) Kurtz of Coldwater, Harry (Dee) Kurtz of Florida, Ken (Diane) Kurtz of Coldwater, Ruth Kurtz of Coldwater, her grandchildren Anthony, Zale, Keara, Robert III, Miya, Corbin and Tessa; great grandchildren Ryan & Madelyn; many nieces, nephews and cousins and her special friend Harold Mobley of Coldwater. She was preceded in death by both parents, nephew Scott Kurtz and niece Kim Kurtz.
