Cathy Jo North, 47, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at Ascension Borgess in Kalamazoo. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Lockwood Community Church with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Interment will follow at Mason Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 4-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. The family strongly encourages visitors to wear face coverings. Cathy Jo was born August 31, 1973 in Coldwater, MI to Donald & Carol (Clifford) Sechler. She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1991 and married Kevin J. North on May 26, 2001 in Coldwater. Cathy had worked at the former Kroger Store, Olan Mills, Bussing’s Bait and Tackle in Homer and Eaton Corp. in Marshall. Her true passion was being home with her children. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. After many struggles, Cathy and her husband were able to adopt two children whom she has devoted her life to raising, caring for and home schooling. Cathy was a member of Lockwood Community Church. She volunteered for Branch County Pride and was instrumental in establishing the Blessing Boxes throughout Branch County. Cathy was very active in the Women at Home Facebook group and she greatly enjoyed coffee time with her friends. Her love for her family was beyond measure. She will be greatly missed. Cathy is survived by her husband Kevin, her children Samuel and Matthew North, her father Don Sechler of Coldwater, her sister Carla (Ken) Quimby of Coldwater, her nephew and niece Zachary & Rebecca Quimby, her mother-in-law Carol North of Stillwater, OK, sister-in-law Holly North (Curtis Stogsdill) of Irving, TX, many aunts, uncles and cousins and numerous friends.
