Obituary for Carman A. Sweet

Carman A. Sweet, 82, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at her home.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 12:00PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Dan Harrison from the Coldwater First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Batavia Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Carman was born June 15, 1940 in Coldwater, MI to Maurice & Mary (Keller) Doty. She married Jerry A. Sweet on November 12, 1983 in Coldwater. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2001.
Mrs. Sweet drove bus for the Coldwater Community Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1997. She had a great love of cooking. Following her retirement, she prepared meals at the Burnside Senior Center and with many of the church dinners at the First Baptist Church, where she was a member. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Carman enjoyed gardening and outside yard work and treasured the time she spent with her family.
Carman is survived by her children Thomas (Laurie) VanDosen of Hudson, Vicki (Bill) Vanover of Quincy; her half-brother John Butcher of Sturgis; her grandchildren Autumn (Dillon) Webb, Matt (Amy) VanDosen, Chad (Kanani) VanDosen, Veronica (Robin) Cline, Cricket (Karen) Vanover, Samantha Morris, Kenny Vanover; many great grandchildren; her special friend Bev Pratt and former husband Joe VanDosen. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents Maurice & Mary Doty, her sister Sharon Prater and her special friend Dorothy Barton.
