Brenda Dee Forrister, of Coldwater, has passed her time on this earth and has gone to be with her Lord on August 6, 2020. In accordance to Brenda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. She was born December 17, 1935 to Paul R. and Florence A. (Kempster) Burch in Toledo, OH. Living a short time in Port Huron from the ages 5 until 17, she graduated from Port Huron High School in 1953, and the rest of her life her home was Coldwater, MI. On August 23, 1954 she married Robert D. Forrister and he preceded her in death in January 2002. Brenda had worked at J.C Penny, later with her husband at Bob’s Auto Supply, and had been employed at The Sewing Basket. Always keeping busy, Brenda was also an artist of decorative paintings, seamstress, quilter, and gardener. She had passion for collecting, keeping teddy bears, angels, paper weights, and her favorite Santas. Her primary goal in life was being a loving wife, proud mother to her five children, and proud grandmother to her nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Brenda is survived by her children, Deborah A. Smith of Santa Maria, CA, Diane (John) Hogan of Rockford, MI, Robert Jay Forrister of Coldwater, Robin (George) Ashton Jr. of Jennison, MI, Sara (Lewis) Horn of Coldwater; three half-sisters, Karen Burch, Sharon Marchese, Kristine Campbell; two half brothers, Robert Burch, Douglas Burch; one step brother, Dr. James Bassett; nine grandchildren, Trevor and Quentin Smith, Adam and Patrick Hogan, Brad, Kelly, and Steven Ashton, Leah and Aaron Horn; four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert D. Forrister, stepfather, Buell S. Basset, two stepsisters, two stepbrothers, and her stepmother, Lillian A. Burch.
