Blaire G. Mathews, 87 of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, December 08, 2020 at Maple Lawn.
Due to COVID, a private graveside service will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Blaire was born to John Wagoner and Dorothy (Grove) Mathews on July 27, 1933.
Blaire is survived by his wife Linda Lee Morrison-Mathews, his son Bradley (LouAnn) Mathews, two grandsons and their wives, one granddaughter, one great grandson, and son-in-law, one sister, two sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Blaire was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children Barbara Fraser, his daughter Carol Ann Mathews-Butt, his twin brother Blaine, his brother H. John, his grandson Kyle, and his grandson-in-law Steve.
Blaire served honorably in the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict, with a specialty in demolition and drove in a semi-convoy cross country for this project. He also served Branch County as a Sheriff’s Deputy under 2 sheriffs. He had a special talent working on mechanical details with vehicles.
Blaire loved deer hunting and outdoor activities. He was a member of the N.R.A., American Legion, and the United Methodist Church of Union City, being their oldest member.
