Beverly A. Gearhart, 78, of Coldwater, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at her home. A celebration of Bev’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 1- 5:00 PM at Heritage Hall in Coldwater.
Bev was born April 19, 1941 in Ft. Wayne, IN to T. Arnold & Ruth (Rue) Turner. She attended Ft. Wayne Business College and married Vernell T. Gearhart on November 2, 1968 in Ft. Wayne. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2007.
Bev worked in accounting and bookkeeping for many years at Minnesota Paints and Bronson Plastics. She had also managed CPS Supply in Coldwater and served as a police reservist in Ft. Wayne, IN. Bev and her husband, owned and operated Gearhart Productions and LoBoo Creations for many years, making videos and keepsakes. Many would see Bev, and her friend Loha, at various local events in the “Grammies Munchies” trailer, graciously preparing food. Bev was an avid Fort Wayne Comets fan and had a huge heart for animals. She actively volunteered at the Branch Co. Humane Society and contributed to many other animal agencies as well. Bev was very dedicated to what she believed in. She was kind, concerned, very giving and found great pleasure in helping others.
Bev is survived by her step children Jullie (Tim) Smith, Matt (Koreen) Gearhart all of Ft. Wayne, IN, her sister Sue Garver of Ft. Wayne, IN, many grandchildren and her very special friends Loha Murphy of Coldwater, Dawn & Steve McManamey of Coldwater, Greg, Samantha, Hunter & Carter Andrews of Jonesville, The Marske Family, JoAnn Poynter of Coldwater, Lisa Tubergan of Quincy, Lisa Hamilton of Coldwater, Terry & Alberta Sullivan of Coldwater and many beloved pets including Maci, Precious and Scooty. In addition to her husband she was preceded by her step daughter Beth.
