Betty Jean O’Dell, 92, of Coldwater passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her home in Coldwater. In accordance to her wishes cremation has taken place with no services to be held at this time. Burial of ashes will be held at Somerset Center Cemetery at a later date. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Betty was born June 21, 1930 to Wayne and Rhea (Shewman) Church in Addison. She married Richard W. O’Dell on June 12, 1949. Jean was a talented artist and enjoyed collecting dolls and cooking; but above all, she loved being with her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother that will be dearly missed.
In addition to her husband Richard, Betty is survived by her children Dennis (Ruth) O’Dell of Chelsea, MI, Dana (Carlotta) O’Dell of Grayling, MI, Terry (Ed) Bruce of FL, David O’Dell of Coldwater, Lori (Ron Willis) O’Dell of Homer, Dan (Janet) O’Dell of League City, TX; her daughter-in-law Gay Brown of Sturgis; her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and her nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Connie O’Dell and her sister Rita.
