Obituary for Betty L. Lynd

Betty Louise Lynd, 76 of Coldwater passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

A funeral service will take place at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Lester Cemetery in Quincy with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Betty was born July 22, 1944 to Carl and Louise (Hudson) Lynd in Coldwater. She graduated from St. Charles High School. Betty spent many years working as an attendant at the Clark Station in Coldwater.

Betty was a long time member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where she also was an active volunteer. She volunteered at the Branch County Library for many years, and also studied her genealogy while there. Betty liked to spend time gardening and was a bowler in her younger years. She will be remembered as being very helpful, good hearted, and never met a stranger.

Betty is survived by her siblings Bertha (Gerald) Ellair of Jonesville, Lois Benjamin of Coldwater, Karen (Doug) Taber of Coldwater, Jim (Ellen Aery) Lynd of Union City, Dave (Rosie) Lynd of Coldwater, and Don Lynd of Reading; her aunt Elsie Forrister; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Carlene (Doug) Weer; her sister-in-laws Thalia, Mary, and Carol Lynd.
