Betty J. Johnson
Betty Jean Johnson, 95 of Coldwater passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 02, 2018 at her home in Masonville Place under the care of Southern Care Hospice.

In following Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will hold a service in Missouri at a later date. Cremation services have been provided by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Betty was born October 12, 1922 to Clifton and Nell (Harriman) Lash in Kansas City, MO. On December 31, 1938 Betty and Harvey Johnson eloped in St. Louis, MO. They moved many times in their marriage and in 1986, they moved to Coldwater to be closer to family. Harvey preceded her in death on January 14, 2007.

Betty was very fond of dolls and was a member of the Battle Creek Area Doll Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and had a fondness of animals. Betty’s true joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She and Harvey liked traveling, visiting many countries around the world both as a couple and with their children. Later in life, Harvey fell ill and Betty spent most of her time caring for him at home. She will be remembered as being very friendly, and a woman with a great sense of humor.

Johnson III of Baton Rouge, LA; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and her special friend Josette Barrows. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harvey, and her granddaughter Nif Turner.
