Obituary for Betty L. Burke

Betty L.  Burke
Betty Louise Burke, 74 of Coldwater passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at her home while surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 13, 2018 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Don Gillette officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence-Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Dutcher Funeral Home from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

Betty was born October 19, 1943 to Earl and Roberta (Brown) Hubbard in Whitesville, WV. On August 11, 1963 she married the love of her life, Grover Burke in Columbus, OH. They later moved to Coldwater for job opportunities. Betty was a hardworking mother, spending 25 plus years at Voltek in many positions. She retired in 2009 to spend more time with her family.

Betty was a woman with many interests. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and going fishing. Betty was a very good cook, who also did sewing, crochet, and knitting work. She always put her family first, especially her grandchildren. Betty was a fan of music, especially listening to Grover play and sing. She will be remembered for her outgoing and friendly personality, while being quiet, sweet, and kind to everyone. Betty will be missed by many.

Betty is survived by her husband of 54 years, Grover Burke of Coldwater; her children Randy (Vicki) Burke of Coldwater, Sharon (Jeffrey) Parshall of Reading, and Tracy (Dusty) Burke of Battle Creek; her sister Patricia Snavely of Mt. Vernon, OH; her half-sister Christine (Ernest) Williamson of Salyersville, KY; her grandchildren Ashley (Stan Longstreet) Angel, Nick Burke, Dakota Burke, Kayla Parshall, Abbygayle Parshall, Megan Parshall, Sammy Burke, Alexander Burke, and Tiffy Burke; her great grandchildren Ava, Avery, and Saylor Longstreet; her good friend Koleen Geer; and a host of nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Earl D. Hubbard.
