Life Story for Anthony "Tony" L. Akers
Anthony L. Akers, 44, of Coldwater, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 2, 2023 at his home.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case from California Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, January 9, 2023 from 3-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Tony was born November 11, 1978 in Coldwater, MI to Gary “Gator” & Barbara (Collins) Akers. He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1997. Tony married Lorraine (Hill) Koch on December 31, 2011 in Coldwater.
Tony worked at Lakeland Correctional Facility, maintenance department, for the past 7 years. He was an avid motorcyclist, enjoyed shooting guns and watching sports. Tony never knew a stranger and could put a smile on anyone’s face. He loved to sing and dance but his greatest joy came from his family. A devout husband, father and grandfather, family was everything.
Tony is survived by his wife Lorraine; his children Allie (Grant Smith) Koch of Columbus, OH, MacKenzie (Chaz Callahan) Koch of Coldwater, Dominick (Macy Allman) Akers of Quincy, Kylee Akers of Brighton, Brecken Akers of Coldwater; his mother and step father Barb & Mike Trusty of Coldwater; his brother Ryan Akers of Coldwater; his mother-in-law Lois Hill of Coldwater, his precious granddaughter “poppa’s baby” Emerson and his nieces Cheyenne, Sydney, Lily, Phoebe, and his nephew Noah. He was preceded in death by his father Gator Akers and his grandparents.
