Alice Faye Tomlinson, 76 formerly of Midland passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Parkview Hospital in Auburn after a short illness.
In following the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Alice was born August 20, 1944 to Herbert and Kathleen (Rainy) Murray in Taylor, MI. She took some college courses and had an entrepreneurial spirit. Alice lived in California with her long-time companion Donald Kearney and worked in property management. After he passed away, Alice moved to Midland. She enjoyed writing stories and poems. Alice was well known for being a great cook. Earlier in life she did modeling and also was a very good public speaker. She had a soft spot for animals, especially cats.
Alice is survived by her children Kimberly Coats of Coldwater, Susanna Towne of Olathe, KS, and James (Diana Dempsey) Towne of Midland, MI; her siblings Gene (Paula) Murray of SC and Dorothy Bush of Hartland, MI; her grandchildren AJ, Kara, and Timothy Watts, and Brier Mitchell; many nieces & nephews and her cat Ms. Kitty. She was preceded in death by her parents; her companion Donald Kearney; her grandson Garrette Towne; her son-in-law Wayne Coats; her brother-in-law Robert Bush; and her niece Sherry Coine.
