Obituary for Lucille A. Cummings

Lucille A. Cummings, 89, of Greenville, South Carolina, formerly of Coldwater, MI passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Case of the California Community Church officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM, with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 12:45 PM at the funeral home.

Lucille was born November 12, 1928 in Three Oaks, MI. to Eber and Anna (Klute) Hacker. She married Mack Cummings January 25, 1947 in Coldwater. He preceded her in death in 1988.

Lucille was employed by the Community Health Center of Branch County as a supervisor in the Housekeeping Department, retiring in 1990. She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star chapter #1 in Coldwater. She enjoyed spending time caring for her family, catching up with friends and family over a cup of coffee and loved to spoil all her great grandchildren. Her smile could turn anyone’s day around for the better. She made friends wherever she went and touched many lives. She enjoyed fall color tours along the lake shores and in the mountains. She loved her photos, gardening, going for drives, visiting with her neighbors and her weekly trip to the beauty shop. Lucille was a master bingo player and AVID Nascar fan!!

Lucille is survived by her daughter Carol Groves of Greenville, SC, her sisters Lois Shultz and MaryLou Philson, 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Ray and Ralph Hacker, as well as her dear sisters Marge Bonham, Pauline Gamby, Ruth Hartley, Gertrude Gochanour and Bonita Kliss, as well as their spouses.
