Obituary for Joyce Weaver

Joyce  Weaver
Joyce Weaver, 78, of Coldwater, received her cardinal wings in heaven on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Select Medical in Battle Creek while surrounded by her loving family after six months of battling health issues.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, Monday, January 8, 2018, at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Cory Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at West Girard Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 2 – 6:00 pm at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Joyce was born April 14, 1939, to Mode “Lester” and Laura (Harmon) Colvin in Coldwater. She graduated from Coldwater High School. On June 4, 1960, she married the love of her life, Gerald Weaver, in Bronson.

Joyce was a woman of faith, attending New Covenant Christian Fellowship in Colon for many years. She was a 4H Leader for several years as her children grew up. Joyce had many interests, including doing a variety of crafts, puzzles, coloring, and bird watching. She was family oriented, enjoying game times, going on camping trips, and spending time with her sisters. Recently, she liked doing activities with Gerald at the Burnside Senior Center. Her true joy in life was devoting time to her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a strong, caring, and loving person who will be missed by many.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gerald Weaver of Coldwater; her children Gerald (Rose) Weaver, Jr of Sherwood, Jeffrey (Lori) Weaver of Coldwater, and Karrie Weaver of Coldwater; her sisters, Noreen McLatcher, Shirley (Lou) Johnson, Judy Tyler, and Dena (John) Downey; her grandchildren Julie (Elliott) Piske, Breanna “Bre” Joyce Weaver, Benjamin Weaver, Michael Weaver, and Jacob Weaver; her great grandchildren, Abi Piske and Elijah Stauffer; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Duane, Junior, and Harold Colvin; and her sister, Norma Darling.
