Franklin “Frank” Alan Thompson, 60 of Quincy passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center.

A funeral service will take place at 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Evangelist Mike Roberts of Bronson Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm and again prior to the funeral service on Thursday from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Franklin was born December 24, 1956 to Walter and Sarah (Demarest) Thompson in Monroe, MI. After graduation from high school, he continued his education earning an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Lansing Community College. He then took a position as a Correctional Officer at the Coldwater Prison System, retiring after 26 years in 2013.

Frank was a man with many interests. He really enjoyed working on antique cars, fixing many over the years. His true joy in life was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as being passionate about life, having a great sense of humor, and not cutting corners. He will be missed by many.

Frank is survived by his children Brandy Thompson of Quincy and Travis Thompson of Quincy; his step-children Sarah Mullins of Sherwood and Kelly Mullins of Florida; his siblings Frederick Thompson of Lansing, Edith “Edie” (Tim) Aldridge of Grand Island, NE, and Kenneth (Liz) Thompson of Whitmore Lake, MI; his grandchildren Kash Fletcher III, Kandon, Kyedin, and Kazen Thompson; his ex-wives Sheila Thompson and Marie Bonham; several nieces & nephews; and his favorite dog “Kendra”. He was preceded in death by his parents.
