Obituary for Dorothy H. Chenoweth

Dorothy Helen Chenoweth, 97 of Coldwater passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Community Health Center of Branch County while surrounded by family.

In following her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services are taking place.

Dorothy was born November 30, 1919 to Herbert and Laura (McKee) Burnham in Coldwater. On January 11, 1937, she married the love of her life, Loyd Chenoweth in Coldwater. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2000. Dorothy worked for many years as a Telephone Operator for GTE.

Dorothy was a woman with many interests. She liked doing crochet work, watching golf, and doing word search puzzles. Dorothy always had a very clean home for guests and family. She could be set in her ways, but yet made friends very easy with her welcoming personality. Dorothy loved animals, especially dogs. Her true joy in life was spending time with her family.

Mrs. Chenoweth is survived by her children David (Helen) Chenoweth of Colorado Springs, CO, Beverly (Wally) Cox of Coldwater, and Janice (Dick) Davis of Quincy; her sister Mary Louise (Jim) Zeiter of Coldwater; 5 grandchildren and several great & great, great grandchildren; her good friend Rose Shettler at Maple Lawn; and her favorite dog “Punkin”.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Loyd; her brothers Robert and Erwin Burnham; and her sister Barbara Murphy.
