Obituary for Dale S. Brown

Dale Stephen Brown, 73, of Coldwater, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his home.

A memorial service to celebrate Dale’s life will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Burr Oak Missionary Church in Burr Oak. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Dale was born May 16, 1944 to LaVern Brown and Julia (Smith) Brown-Bent in Kalamazoo.
After graduating from Schoolcraft High School, he went on to become a machinist for many southwest Michigan companies. Dale worked for 20 more years in retirement at Meijer’s in Coldwater as a sales clerk until 2014.

Dale will be remembered for his sense of humor, gardening, his sweet tooth, watching TV, being a football fan and family visits.

He is survived by his longtime companion Patricia Orlando of Coldwater; his children, Kimberly (Russell) Bell of Kalamazoo, Steven (Gerri Jo) Brown of Sturgis and Angela Costa of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his grandchildren, Trey Thinnes, Taylor Thinnes, Crystal Ross, Rebecca Randall and Timothy Brown; his 5 great grandchildren; his siblings, Darl (Shirley) Brown of Marcellus, Dena (Terry) Piper of Schoolcraft and Verna (Phil) Maughan of Fayetteville, N. Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Russell Brown.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
