Obituary for Helen Y. Ford

Helen Y.  Ford
Helen Yvonne Ford, 92, formerly of Coldwater passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Warren, MI.

A funeral service will take place at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case of California Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 2:00 pm.

Helen was born October 27, 1925 to Leon and Leona (Osborn) Bidwell in Bronson. She graduated high school and then earned her LPN. She worked in California as a LPN, retiring in 1978 when she moved back to Michigan to be closer to her family. On August 12, 1950 she married the love of her life, Francis Ford. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1988.

Helen had many interests. She enjoyed baking, sewing, reading romance novels, and birdwatching, especially hummingbirds. Helen was the family rock, always there for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will be remembered for being a strong woman with a caring and loving personality. Her true joy in life was spending time with her family.

Mrs. Ford is survived by daughters Lizabeth Brooks of Warren and Melinda (Miguel) Valle-Caballero of Fremont, IN; her grandchildren Levi Pifer, Morgan (Thomas) Frantom, and Tracey Cichowlas; her great grandchildren Jaylinn Valle, Chace Gaul, Heather Easterly, Justin Cichowlas, Devin Grabowski, and Gorigo Shopov; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Francis; her son Thomas Lee Ford; her granddaughter Lacey Jo Gaul; her brothers Norman and Lee Bidwell; her sister Betty Cleckner; and her dog “Raven Skkye”.
