Obituary for Marcelle J. Foley

Marcelle Josephine Lambalais Foley, a life-long resident of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, August 13, at the age of 93 at the Community Health Center of Branch County following a brief illness. Mrs. Foley is the widow of Robert (Bob) Foley who preceded her in death in October of 1996.
Mrs. Foley was born July 12, 1924 in Goincourt, a French village outside of Beauvais, France. She met her husband, Bob, an American soldier in 1945 at a Red Cross dance. They were married the following March of 1946 in Beauvais. They relocated to the U.S. in 1947 and moved to Coldwater in 1949.
Mrs. Foley was employed by Federal Mogul, LeRan Copper & Brass and CCS. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for 58 years, a longtime member of St. Mary’s Guild, the Alter Guild, various committees, the Adult Christian Formation, and a volunteer for the Nearly New Shop. Before her illnesses, she enjoyed reading, gardening, playing Dominoes and being with her family.
Mrs. Foley is survived by her three children, a daughter, Annie (Jerry) Katz of Reston, Virginia, a daughter, Monique (Basil) Broughman of Coldwater and her son Kim (Jackie) Foley of Coldwater. Mrs. Foley is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with Father Rick Schark officiating. The interment of ashes will take place in St. Mark’s Columbarium in the Memorial Garden.
