Kenneth E. Washburn, 69, of Quincy, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at VA Healthcare System in Ann Arbor.
The funeral will be Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will follow at Sherwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Ken was born December 9, 1947 in Marshall, MI to David & Leona (Davis) Washburn. He served in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Washburn was a hard working entrepreneur in his own right, always taking advantage of any opportunity to earn money. He also worked for Hoff’s Vegetable farm for many years.
Ken loved animals, raising poodles for many years. He was an outdoorsman, proud of his Cherokee Indian heritage, who enjoyed hunting and ice fishing. He also enjoyed collecting guns and coins.
Ken is survived by his children Ken (Angie) Washburn of Coldwater, Jeff (Holly) Washburn of Vandercook, Leigh Ann (David Fowler ) Washburn of Jackson, his sisters Rebecca DeVenney of Tekonsha, Elizabeth Durr of Battle Creek, Lori Slocum of Tennessee, 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jennifer Washburn, brother John Washburn and his pride and joy dogs Killer and Lisa.
