Ralph J. Bender, 81, of Coldwater, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home.
A memorial gathering to honor Ralph’s life will be held from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Coldwater Township Hall (319 Sprague Rd.). Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Ralph was born August 26, 1935 in Hillsdale to Lear and Gayfie (Flower) Bender. He married Doris Haugen on August 5, 1969 in Angola, Indiana. She preceded him in death on February 19, 1999.
Ralph worked at Midwest Foundry in Coldwater for many years, retiring in 1990.
Mr. Bender was a very hard working man who enjoyed watching movies, the weather channel, and baseball, especially the N.Y. Yankees. He also enjoyed working in his garden, eating desserts, home projects, working on cars, country music and going to the drive in. His greatest love was his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ralph is survived by his daughters Gaytha (Scott) Elkins of Coldwater and Renee Remsing of Cheboygan, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his 5 brothers.
