Obituary for Darrell "Wayne" Roberts
Darrell “Wayne” Roberts, 51, of Sturgis, passed away on Monday March 6, 2017.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 12 Noon at the Church of Christ at Bronson with Elder Toby Welch officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 4 – 8:00 PM at the Church of Christ at Bronson and again on Saturday prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow at Snow Prairie Cemetery in Bethel Township. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Darrell was born September 14, 1965 in Morehead, Kentucky to Gene E. and Mabel E. (Bragg) Roberts Sr. He worked many years for Guardsmark as a supervisor of security at the Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek.
Wayne was a member of the Church of Christ at Bronson. He enjoyed watching sports, especially University of Michigan and the Detroit Lions. He also enjoyed going out to dinner, bowling and traveling. Wayne was fun loving, passionate and very family orientated, with much love for his girls, grandchildren and his extended family.
Wayne is survived by his daughters Natasha Roberts, Nicole Roberts both of Peoria IL, Madison Roberts of Sturgis, His fiancé Beth Tschannen of Sturgis, his step children Kelsey Buys, Alicia Buys, Jessica Tschannen, Dustin Tschannen, Brandon Tschannen all of Sturgis, and Christy Buys of Kalamazoo, his siblings Gene Roberts, Jr of El Paso, TX, Nancy Munger of Sturgis, Deborah (James) Oxenrider of Bronson, Shawn (Grant) Westfall of Colon, Mike (Tina) Roberts of Bronson, Mark (Susan) Roberts of Bronson, Jennifer (Greg) Woodworth of Coldwater, Jeff (Stacy) Roberts of Bronson and his seven grandchildren Gabby, Bentley, McKenzie, Blayke, Kylee, Bella and Aleah.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
