Obituary for Ruby L. Sell

Ruby L.  Sell
Ruby Louise Sell, 95, of Coldwater, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, January 21, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Coldwater with Pastor Aaron Chittick officiating. Interment will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta at a later date. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Ruby was born March 18, 1921 to Louie Densmore and Gladys (Reed) Densmore Hughes in Burlington. She married Arthur Sell on November 19, 1939 in Union City, he preceded her in death on February 11, 1991.
Mrs. Sell lived in the Coldwater and Union City areas for most of her life. Ruby operated their family farm in Union City with her husband for over 20 years. They had owned the former Koffee Kup Restaurant in Coldwater for a few years back in the 1970’s. She also worked as an attendant at the Coldwater Regional Center for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
Ruby was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, AARP and the Michigan State Retiree’s. Ruby volunteered with Meals on Wheels for over 12 years. She and her husband Arthur were leaders of Whistle and Work 4-H Club and also active with the Nye Grange. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, knitting, crocheting, quilting, ceramics and flower gardening. Ruby had created hundreds of keepsakes that will be treasured forever for many generations to come. She was a quiet woman who especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great -grandchildren.
Ruby is survived by her children, Randy (Kathy) Sell of Coldwater, Ed Sell of Coldwater, Becky (Gerald) McCellan of Hillsdale, June (Bob) Vincent of Tekonsha, her 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren , 4 great great grandchildren and her very special dog and long time companion Pixie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur, her sisters, Marian McNall-Abramson and Waive Musselman and her brother, William Densmore.
