Opal L. Letts, 95 of Coldwater passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Maple Lawn.

In following Opal’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Opal was born March 28, 1921 to Raymond and Emma (Reed) Barlow in Quincy. On May 5, 1938, Opal married the love of her life Russell Letts in Angola. After 73 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on May 27, 2011.

Opal was a lifelong resident of Branch County. She was a stay at home wife and mother who enjoyed cooking, canning, and gardening. Opal liked to go for walks and also bowling with family and friends. Mostly she cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Letts is survived by her children George (Cathy) Letts of Sturgis and Linda (Gerald) Brauer of Coldwater; her grandchildren Jodie (Jeff) Johnson of Coldwater, Deborah Hansman of Sturgis, Thomas Hansman of Colon, Bianca (Mark) Happel of Sturgis, and Anthony (Alome`) Letts of Chicago; 13 great grandchildren, 11 great, great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters Arlene & Emelene and a brother Glen. www.dutcherfh.com
