Richard J. Wrobel, 77, of Bronson, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Community Health Center of Branch County surrounded by his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at St. Mary of Assumption in Bronson with Fr. Paul Redmond officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 3:00 until 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with the Rosary being recited at 7:15 PM. Interment will take place at a later date.
Richard was born December 9, 1939 to John and Frances (Suwanski) Wrobel in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from Lane Tech High School in Chicago, he worked various jobs, including family favorite Father & Son’s Pizza and Henry Susk car dealership. Then he enlisted in the United States Air Force on January 5, 1960. He was honorably discharged on December 12, 1963 having attained the rank of A1C. Richard married Marie Bodine on September 25, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois.
He was employed with IBM as a Computer Engineer in the Chicago, Illinois area from 1964 until his retirement in December of 1996. He consulted with IBM for 5 years after his retirement and then enjoyed lending a hand/ keeping busy with Ed Schmucker and his sawmill.
Richard was a member of St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson. He loved fishing above and beyond all his other hobbies, but he also enjoyed going to auctions, tinkering and fixing everything that needed it. He will be remembered as a person always willing to help.
Richard is survived by his wife of 51 years Marie of Bronson, his children; Lisa Mousseau of Coldwater, Suzanne Wrobel of Chicago, Illinois, Christopher Wrobel of Holt and Brian Wrobel of Coldwater, his 2 grandchildren; Madison and Abigail Wrobel, his siblings; Ann (Thomas) Swaine of Chicago, Illinois, Barbara (Rodney) Faber of Glenview, Illinois and Robert Wrobel of Norwood Park, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.
