Obituary for Elnore M. Paris

Elnore Marie Paris, 98 of Coldwater passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at Drew’s Place of Coldwater while surrounded by loved ones.

A graveside funeral service will take place at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, November 22 at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, OH. Visitation will be at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.

Elnore was born November 30, 1917 to Roy A. and Mina May (Hummel) Dunbar in Maumee, OH. She graduated from Maumee High School in 1935. Elnore lived in Paulding and Bryan OH then Hillsdale, Ludington, and Three Rivers before landing in Coldwater in 1947.On July 16, 1940 Elnore married Jack Reid in Maumee. Later she married Raymond Q. Paris in Coldwater on July 1, 1961. He preceded her in death on December 9, 1978.

Elnore was a hardworking woman. She spent 24 years with the City of Coldwater as a secretary in the City Manager’s office, retiring in 1981. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church of Coldwater and a life member of the Order of Eastern Star #1 in Coldwater. She was also a former member of the Branch County Genealogical Society, which she joined in 1979.

Mrs. Paris is survived by her special friend and “adopted daughter” JoAnn Poynter of Coldwater; her special friend Beverly Gearhart of Coldwater; her niece Nancy Hawkins of OH; several nieces, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond; and her brother Roy A. Dunbar.
