Oliver Keith Filley, 86, of Coldwater, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Oliver was born on February 12, 1930 to Don D. and Lolo M. (Morehouse) Filley in Coldwater. He married Betty L. Foster on December 21, 1946 in Angola, Indiana, she preceded him in death on October 29, 2001.
Oliver worked as a cable splicer with GTE for 43 plus years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Coldwater Moose Lodge # 677, the Coldwater Eagles Lodge # 1907, AARP and had attended First Church of Christ in Coldwater. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Daniel (Kim) Filley of Laotto, Indiana, Susan ( Gerald) Corey of Dowagiac, Christine Bogue of Battle Creek, Deborah (Danny) Favler of Athens and Candace (Roger) Pelmear of Sturgis: his 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
