Mary Ann  Stontz
Mary Ann Stontz, 91, of Coldwater passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Lakeland Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Angola, while surrounded by family.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Father Bernie Zajdel of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Angola, IN officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. A private interment will take place at a later date in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
Mary was born December 24, 1924 to John and Anna (Locoshonas) Cook in Kewanee, IL. After graduation from high school, she started a long working career. Mary spent many years as a commissions’ agent for Fidelity Insurance. Later she worked at General Electric, in the banking industry, and also doing property management. On May 10, 1947 she married the love of her life, Felix Stontz. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2007. Mary and Felix
Mary and Phil spent over 30 years enjoying summers close to their family in Michigan, and winters in Florida.
Mary Ann attended both St. Anthony’s and St. Charles churches over the years. She was very active at the Burnside Senior Center playing cards, taking computer classes, and meeting with friends. Mary was very interested in learning about new technology, using her IPad and Facebook to stay in touch with family and friends. She was a very outgoing woman who liked to have fun and play games. Mostly she loved being around her family. She will be missed by many.
Mrs. Stontz is survived by her children Marilyn Rus of Coldwater, Michael Stontz of Callao, VA, and John (Rebecca) Stontz of Traverse City; her grandchildren Erik (Courtney) Rus, Nicole (Shane) Christ, Adam Stontz, Duncan Stontz, Christine Stontz, Joseph (Nicole) Stontz, Angela (Jeremy) Perigo, and Marzena (Ryan) Mohler; her great grandchildren Dylan, Logan, and Lucy Rus, Amira, Zahra, and Arabella Perigo, Ruby and Levi Stontz, Violet and Lucia Mohler; her sister-in-law Marie Stontz; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Felix, her brother Walter J. Cook; and her son-in-law William Rus.
