Obituary for John W. Weller

John W.  Weller
John William Weller, 88 of Tekonsha went to the Lord Sunday, September 18, 2016 at The Colonial House in Marshall.
A funeral service will take place 11:00 AM, Friday, September 23, 2016 at Burlington Church of God with Pastor Wayne Halbleib officiating. Interment will follow at Burlington Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
John was born April 30, 1928 to Willy and Leona (Doland) Weller in Burlington. After graduation from high school, he continued his life-long passion of farming. He married his first wife Elfrieda Wiescholek in 1952, she preceded him in death. On March 14, 1981 he married Jeanne (Borden) Prichard in Tekonsha.
John was a man of faith. He was a long-time member of the Burlington Church of God where he was very active in the church. John taught Sunday School Classes, delivered meals to shut-ins and for many years visited elderly parishioners’. He was also active in the Tekonsha community, where he was on the tax board for 35 years, drove school bus, and led the annual sheep shearing field trip. John will be remembered as a farmer, a friend, being compassionate, loving, and a man of integrity. He believed in doing all things the right way. John relished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
Mr. Weller is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jeanne Weller of Tekonsha; his children Leona (Frank) Herzegh of Mentor, OH and Linda (Mike) Chism of South Haven; his step-children Heath (Nancy) Prichard of Burlington and Stephanie (Matt) Krill of Edgerton, OH; his mother-in-law Pauline Harris of Nottawa; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; his sons Paul and Steven Weller; his grandson Randy Frailey; his granddaughter Cherrin Prichard; and his sisters Hazel and Nettie Weller.
