Karl J. Hoffer, 80, of Bronson, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater. Per Karl’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Karl was born September 24, 1935 in Pontiac Twp., MI to Harold & Harriett (Wright) Hoffer. He served in the US Army and married Sue Anne Rutledge on February 22, 1958 in Coldwater.
Mr. Hoffer worked most of his life for Abbott Laboratories in Sturgis, retiring in 1992. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, especially on Lake Erie. Karl was a skilled woodworker and loved to keep busy, always fixing something. He was very computer savvy and always up on the latest technology. Karl and his wife, Sue, enjoyed spending the winter months in Lakeland, FL.
Karl is survived by his wife Sue, his sons Ron (Michelle) Hoffer of Bronson, Scott Hoffer of Ft. Worth, TX, his sister Judy Phillips of Columbia City, IN, his grandchildren Trevor Hoffer, Nathan Hoffer, Matthew (Kristi) Hoffer, Danielle Hoffer and great grandson Elliott Hoffer. www.dutcherfh.com.
