Obituary for Sara "Danette" Smoker

Sara "Danette"  Smoker
S. Danette Smoker, 67, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at her home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
The funeral service will be Monday, July 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Visitation will be Monday beginning at 12 Noon, prior to the service.
Danette was born October 16, 1948 in Ferndale, MI to Marion & Joyce (Hermance) Seigler. She graduated in 1966 from Quincy High School and obtained her cosmetology license from Royal Oak Beauty Academy the following year.
She married the love of her life, Kenneth Smoker, on April 28, 1995 in Coldwater. They have spent many years together creating beautiful memories full of dancing, laughter and love. They have enjoyed many adventures together.
Danette owned and operated the New Dimensions hair salon in Quincy for many years, as well as working from home. She thoroughly enjoyed her work and clients. She spent many years going into the homes of those that were unable to come and see her at her shop. You could also find her taking care of clients at The Masonville House and Maple Lawn.
Danette was a kind hearted, caring person that loved to be around people. She had a soft spot for all animals and was known for bringing home stray cats and rescue dogs. She enjoyed spending time outside, especially on the lake. She had attended the Free Methodist Church, enjoyed bowling on a league, dancing and her Sassy Classys Red Hat Society group. Most importantly, she loved spending time with family and friends.
Danette is survived by her husband Ken, her children Kaprice (Scott) McFarland of Coldwater, Kent Wyatt of Quincy, her parents Marion “Seig” & Joyce Seigler of Riverview, FL, step children Nikki (Dave) Schmaltz of Battle Creek, Shannon Blair of Wendell, NC, Shawn Smoker of Los Angeles, CA, her brother Jarret & Tresa Seigler of Plainwell, grandchildren Lexi, Drew, Brady, Chandler, Dalton and Jaeden and her very special friend, Mary Butters.
She will be greatly missed!
