Ivan “Mel” E. Moyer, Jr., 67, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Ivan was born June 28, 1949 to Ivan E. Moyer Sr. and Marian (Smith) Cazier in Vicksburg. After graduating from Vicksburg High School, Ivan began his own lawn care and snow plowing business for many years.
He enjoyed painting, woodworking, making bird houses, making jewelry, watching Detroit Tiger baseball, listening to country music and dancing. Ivan had a gift for making all kinds of crafts.
Ivan is survived by his children; Jeannie Ortiz of Burr Oak, Vicki (Rusty) Smith of Coldwater and Justin Moyer of Sturgis, his 7 grandchildren; Kyle, Carlos, Allie, Dylan, Lynsey ,Xander and Levi, his siblings; Suzanne Crandall of Galesburg, John (Sue) Moyer of Comstock and Kathy (Dewey) Troyer of LaGrange, Indiana and his special friend; Shirley Summit of Coldwater. He was preceded in death by his parents.
