Maybelle E. Hostetler, 91 of Reading, Michigan passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Hillsdale Hospital.

A funeral service will take place at 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Deb Cole of Reading United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Bronson Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 4:00 PM.

Maybelle was born July 2, 1925 to Ray and Vera (Mann) Washburn in Quincy Township. She graduated from Bronson High School and then started a long working career. Maybelle owned and operated the Bronson A&W in the early in 1960’s and also another restaurant in Orland, Indiana. Later she worked with various manufacturing companies in the Angola area. On March 15, 1947, she married the love of her life, Fred Hostetler. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2005.

Maybelle was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a long-time member of the Angola Moose Lodge #1568. Over the years she had many interests including bowling, bingo, doing crochet, hand embroidery, and playing the lottery. Maybelle was known for her baking. Her true joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Hostetler is survived by her children Karen (Dick) Heffelfinger of Reading, and Dennis Hostetler of Angola; son-in-law’s Jim Stalder of Westerville, OH and Verl Rumsey of Bronson; 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 3 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fred; children Dewight Hostetler, Kathleen Rumsey, and Wanda Stalder; baby brother Robert Washburn; and daughter-in-law Judy Hostetler.
