Richard Arthur Walters, 78, of Colon, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Laurels of Coldwater.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Richard was born February 13, 1938 to Arthur and Lola (Steinke) Walters in Leonidas. He married Kathleen Schroeder on August 7, 1964 in Centerville. He graduated from Sturgis High School and went to work for Ross Laboratories in Sturgis for 20 years. His main occupation was being a farmer and raising livestock.
Richard was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Coldwater. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling to northern Michigan and his dogs.
Richard is survived by his wife Kathy of Colon; his children, Richard Kirby (Lee) Walters of Howe, Indiana, Diana (Todd) Van Slembrouck of Buckley and Clayton (Ruby) Walters of Colon; his grandchildren, Neal (Vicki) Walters, James Walters and Shawna Walters; his great grandchildren, Alexis, Austin and Olivia; his brother, Donald (Nancy) Walters of Colon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
